Magnets / Magnum
Get NowThe basic set contains 10 magnets. The magnets are printed with colored numbers 0 - 9 (Diameter 60
mm). The magnets are printed on magnetic MG film. The set of magnets is supplied in a cotton bag
with a drawstring. For functional work in the classroom, we recommend ordering a "Class set",
which contains 50 magnets.
We supply them with black printing as standard. If you would like magnets in another color - just write
the color in a note with your order - choose from black, green, red, blue.
Abaku magnets are designed for beginners and advanced learners and are a very popular tool (toy) that will serve you and your students well even outside the Abaku methodology. They work well for both individual and group use. If you have a magnetic board in your classroom - number magnets will add new meaning to it. Magnets work well for teachers when explaining teachings and presenting patterns in an organized way.
We recommend not collecting the magnets at the end of class, but leaving them arranged to the side of the board. As you will see for yourselves - students play with them even during breaks or in their free time.
Editorial Tip: Prepare Abaku sequences in advance with magnets - at the beginning of class you just need to display them in a row on the board and we can start. Abaku sequences are one of the most popular activities of Abaku teaching performed on the board and are a proven and motivating start to a lesson. Just one or two sequences at the beginning of each lesson.
Uses: Teaching material, mini-games, warm-ups, find all examples, combos, Abaku sequences, logical sequences, etc.
Games with magnets:
A. What's missing here...
On the board you arrange a row of terms from arithmetic equality examples without the results. The
question is what's missing? You also look for combinations that allow different results.
For example: 123? / 1234 or 1239 or 123 or 12336
B. What's missing here...
On the board you arrange a row of results without terms from arithmetic equations.
For example: ?39 / 3-13=39 or 31+8=39
C. What's missing here...
On the board you arrange a row of arithmetic equality examples with one or more missing numbers.
For example: 24??2, 55?57, etc.
